What you'll do

  • You will build and inspire an inclusive, diverse, collaborative team
  • Develop and articulate a vision and strategy for the function
  • Define, implement and manage daily processes and applicable SOX compliance for stock options and restricted stock units
  • Ensure compliance for all equity administration and payroll operations
  • Lead implementation of ongoing compliance with applicable legal and tax regulations in foreign jurisdictions
  • Own the review of payroll, equity and commission journal entries
  • Responsible for effective, accurate and timely recording and reconciliation of the equity activity to the equity admin system
  • Develop, review and enforce policies as well as identify and build internal key controls for payroll operations and equity administration
  • Provide monthly metrics to report on overall health of the payroll, equity and commissions functions
  • Partner with the VP of Tax to ensure equity and payroll tax compliance with Federal and multi-state laws
  • Responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of cap table
  • Partner with People team on development and maintenance of employee compensation programs to promote employee retention
  • Partner with Financial Reporting for performing  flux analysis and reconciliations of payroll, equity and commission accounts
  • Partner and collaborate with Sales Ops with to ensure proper commissions calculations 
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance reporting and effectiveness of the equity and payroll function
  • Connect and benchmark continuously with other global organizations to bring best practices to the function
  • Prepare and deliver content for employee education

What we look for

  • 10+ years of progressive equity administration experience with 3-5 years of in a publicly traded company
  • CEP certification (preferred)
  • Thorough understanding of equity instruments and applicable taxation
  • Exceptional analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem solving skills, sound independent judgment
  • Extensive experience working cross-functionally on equity matters with Legal, Finance, and People teams
  • Experience helping a company through the IPO process
  • A proven track record of leveraging technology to support growth at scale
  • Experience with Carta and other equity management platforms
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills and attention to detail
  • The desire to improve broken processes and make your own job easier over time
  • Passion for Affirm and a strong interest in technology
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Excel, Word and GSuite
  • A passion for equity and helping our employees understand it
  • A penchant for discretion

Location

 

We’re excited to announce that Affirm is now a remote-first company! This role can be located anywhere in the U.S. and Canada (with the exception of Quebec). Remote based employees may occasionally travel to an Affirm office for meetings or team building events. Our offices in San Francisco, New York City, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Salt Lake City will remain operational and accessible for anyone to use on a voluntary basis.
