About Our Role:

Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Tax will oversee all global tax related matters including tax planning and strategy, income tax accounting and tax compliance. This newly created position will be crucial in guiding the Company through strategic tax planning, compliance related projects and public company readiness as the Company embarks on the next stage of growth and operational maturity. The ideal candidate is a big-picture, strategic thinker with a roll-up their sleeves and execute mindset. This role will require a technical hands on candidate that is detail oriented, with strong organizational and communication skills and technical acumen in both US and International tax. This is a key leadership role and will require collaboration across Finance, Accounting, Legal, Finance Systems and many other leaders across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the Company’s US federal and global direct and indirect tax compliance and planning, and the accounting for income taxes under US GAAP
  • Develop and implement a global tax strategy and structure as the Company continues to expand its global footprint and present global tax strategies to executive management and leadership team
  • Minimize tax obligations to enable optimal deployment of capital into the growth of the business.
  • Design critical tax accounting processes and implement technology improvements related to tax compliance and reporting
  • Act as primary point of contact for our outside advisors and consultants who assist in tax preparation and complex tax matters
  • Establish and maintain formal tax policies, practices and procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance and strong internal controls
  • Develop, implement and maintain global indirect tax policies, procedures and internal controls for a large multinational company
  • Manage global transfer pricing strategy
  • Forecasting and analysis of quarterly and annual effective tax rates
  • Drive the resolution of tax issues related to audits, mergers and acquisitions, and new business initiatives
  • Develop tax controls and document process to build towards a best in class internal control environment
  • Provide guidance on proposed and enacted tax legislation, keeping abreast of tax law changes in the US and foreign jurisdictions to manage risk and identify potential planning opportunities
  • Work alongside the Corporate Controller, Finance & Strategy, Legal, People team and other cross-functional leaders across the Company on projects related to challenges we will face as a growing, multinational Company

You take initiative and are able to work in a dynamic environment across all levels of management and across functions and geographies with minimal supervision. You are confident, energetic, demonstrate good judgment and are able to influence outcomes globally. You are driven and eager to learn and grow in your career.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 15 years of corporate and international tax experience; in both public accounting and within a multinational corporate tax department of a public company; ideally with experience in a senior director or head of tax role
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting for income taxes
  • Strong technical knowledge of income tax, accounting for income taxes (e.g. ASC 740, ASC 450)
  • Track record of managing service providers to ensure work is completed on time, with quality and on budget
  • Professional and positive communication and organizational skills, including an ability to clearly explain complex concepts to non-accounting personnel
  • Exposure to international tax structures, business models and global complexity
  • Out-of-the-box-thinking: demonstrated ability to device creative tax structures
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and execute at strategic and tactical levels
  • Experience working with foreign offices or subsidiaries preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation and informal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work across many departments with varying levels of staff and management to solve problems and achieve results
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
