Who You Are

You are an experienced accountant with 3-4 years in general accounting processes and procedures, and at least 2 years in mortgage accounting, including bookkeeping, preparation and posting of accounting entries for funding and financing of mortgage loans, commissions/bonus/overrides; reconciliation of general ledger balances, and month end general ledger closing processes. in-depth reconciliations, and conducting analysis and reporting on compiled data. 

You are savvy when it comes to hunting down all the information required to complete reports, and willing to adapt and change as the business scales.  You are a self-starter who is motivated by the challenge of taking your knowledge and using it to improve upon current reporting and create and execute robust and detailed reports for a rapidly growing line of business.  You are skilled in adapting to change and consistently seeking ways to add value to the organization.  You are naturally analytical and curious by nature, and fastidious in researching data to help others make informed decisions. 

What You’ll Do Here

  • Monthly accounting close and revenue reporting 
  • Work with underwriting and loan origination system to provide aging reports and assist with interim servicing of loans for sale 
  • Bi-weekly and monthly reconciliations of client trust and impound accounts 
  • Assist with gathering and providing requested documentation for the annual financial audit and periodic state regulatory reports.
  • Assist with adhering to covenant guidelines and monthly warehouse reporting
  • Work with management to report on key performance indicators for the business
  • Assist in redefining commission/bonus/override profiles, prepares weekly and bi-weekly commission/bonus/override payments, and prepares the file for payroll
  • Work with affiliated divisions to streamline and strengthen mortgage process
  • Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality

You Have

  • 3-4 years of experience in project, staff, or junior level accounting.
  • Mid-level proficiency in Excel
  • Must be able to work independently in a remote and possibly hybrid remote role
  • Aptitude for collaborating across functions 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting is required. 
  • Superior verbal and written communications and presentation skills; efficient with remote work tools
  • Experience using QuickBooks and/or ERP/accounting systems – NetSuite is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting is required. 
  • Real estate / title / escrow experience a plus
  • Familiarity with the NMLS a plus
  • Experience with FNMA/FMAC/HUD reporting a plus
