As the first payroll hire, you will play an integral role in laying the foundation of the payroll function for a multi-million dollar company. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and data-driven environment. 

As a Payroll Administrator You Will

  • Scale and own full-cycle payroll function 
  • Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across the US and Canada
  • Manage Payroll activities such as PTO reporting, leave of absence payments, commissions, bonuses, new hires, and terminations
  • Ensure that all monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax filings are met; ensure all local statutory payroll and fringe benefit reporting requirements are met
  • Prepare and reconcile month-end journal entries
  • Support various internal and external audits, domestic and international, if needed
  • Document financial processes and policies 
  • Serve as a strong partner with HR to ensure all processing of payroll data and headcount tracking are accurate. 
  • Implement tools and systems for the payroll function to scale with the company
  • Contribute and help with AR/AP

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience of payroll process experience 
  • Familiarity with Payroll Systems such as ADP, Gusto, and/or Rippling
  • Knowledge of state and federal wage, tax, and overtime laws 
  • Ability to think across multiple dimensions of a business and work cross-functionally to deliver results
  • You are a team player and love to deliver outstanding results while having a fun time with your teammates doing it!
  • You are resourceful and not afraid to roll up your sleeves
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise utmost discretion 
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel
