This role will be an integral part of the Blend Accounting team. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, works well in collaborative teams, demonstrates strong communication skills, detail oriented, and who thrives in a rapidly growing environment. The candidate will pioneer continuous optimization of the processes, establish best practice, and have involvement in system implementation and enhancements to support the fast-growing business.
How you'll contribute:
- Perform month-end close activities that includes preparing monthly revenue entries, account reconciliations, and analytical review procedures
- Perform revenue allocation calculations and set up and maintain SaaS revenue waterfalls
- Perform review of customer contracts for revenue recognition considerations in accordance with ASC 606
- Assist in optimizing accounting policies and procedures, and implementing internal controls over the order-to-cash process
- Partner closely with cross-functional groups (i.e. FP&A, Deal Desk, etc) to drive best practices and scalable revenue processes
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently, maintain high degree of accuracy, and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines
- Support external audit function
- Perform ad hoc projects as required, including user acceptance testing for system implementation projects
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 3 -5 years SaaS/Software industry experience in a revenue accounting role or in Big 4 public accounting with relevant revenue experience (ASC 606)
- Ability to operate in a fast paced, rapidly evolving, data driven environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required to interface with all levels of the organization
- You are passionate about driving continuous improvement in yourself and within your function
- You are detailed oriented and possess the ability to multitask
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to work with large sets of data
- Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce is a plus
