Revenue Manager
At Fastly, Revenue Manager will support the revenue accounting operations and play a key role in the monthly close process. This role contributes collaboratively to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls. This a crucial role that will assist in overseeing revenue accounting in a fast paced and hyper growth environment. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles, excellent technical and communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively across business functions.
What You'll Do
- Ensure revenue recognition is in accordance with the company’s policy and revenue recognition accounting standard ASC 60
- Interact with Legal, Sales Ops, FPA, Sales, Pricing and Product Groups on projects, deal structuring, deal approvals, go to Market strategies, contract negotiation
- Address technical accounting inquiries from the business and provide guidance/implications
- Identify and implement internal controls and process improvements
- Provide contract review summaries for completed transactions (for internal and audit purposes)
- Assist with financial audits including reconciliations, support documentation, and communication with external auditors
- Liaise with auditors on revenue recognition and related matters as part of interim reviews and annual audit
What We're Looking For
- CPA with 5+ years experience in revenue accounting with a Big 4 accounting firm; Industry experience at a top-tier tech company a plus
- Experience in applying software revenue accounting guidance (ASC 606)
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles with strong problem-solving skills to deal with complex transactions
- Top performer who is willing to dive into the details and who is looking to gain experience and grow with Fastly
- Detail-oriented with great organizational skills, but also comfortable with ambiguity
- Execution-focused, with the ability to take individual responsibility for delivering quality work in a timely manner
