The Senior Accountant position is a critical role within our revenue accounting operations for our rapidly growing company. This person will work in close partnership with the Controller, the Director of FP&A, and the Sales Operations teams, as well as serving as a point of contact for our external auditors. As Senior Accountant (Revenue Operations), you will own the day-to-day revenue processing and monthly accounting at our corporate headquarters. Upon hire, you will report directly to the Controller. This is a great opportunity to refine your accounting skills in a fast-paced, growing start-up. You will partner with stakeholders across our dynamic organization to build and support a robust revenue accounting and control structure.

What you'll do:

  • Manage day-to-day revenue accounting activities to ensure compliance with US GAAP, external audits, and internal controls
  • Own and manage the monthly revenue close process (invoicing to cash application and reconciliations)
  • Manage inquiries regarding invoicing and services (internal and external customers)
  • Review, analyze, and summarize revenue contracts for key business terms
  • Manipulate and reconcile large volumes of data in Excel from sources such as NetSuite, Zuora, and Salesforce
  • Prepare complex journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations for accounts receivable and all revenue accounts
  • Perform revenue account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP in preparation for monthly financial reporting
  • Prepare supporting documentation for annual audit
  • Help implement and monitor compliance with ASC 606
  • Develop, improve, and document revenue accounting policies and procedures
  • Continually look for ways to improve your function (improve workflows, automation, etc.)
  • Support the FP&A team and other key stakeholders with revenue forecasting and variance analysis 
  • Facilitate and maintain internal cross-departmental relationships
  • Work on ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as needed

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field of study)
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • At least 2 – 4 years of public accounting experience (bonus points for Big 4 CPA)
  • At least 2 – 4 years of private accounting experience (hyper-growth start-up experience preferred)
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting in which you owned the day-to-day and monthly accounting processes
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite (specifically the NS revenue module)
  • Experience with Zuora
  • Basic SQL knowledge a plus
