Bolt is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our growing team. This role will play an integral part in the monthly accounting close, technical accounting, financial audit, and other areas of operations. This role will have a broad scope and help us scale the accounting team by implementing new accounting standards and taking ownership of close deliverables from start to finish. We are a small but nimble team so you must have the ability to think high level about processes and procedures, but not be afraid to roll up your sleeves.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis as well as management reporting and analysis deliverables
  • Ownership of specific general ledger accounts such as stock-based compensation, commissions, and intercompany transactions
  • Work closely with Staff Accountant to prepare monthly prepaids, fixed assets, and accruals
  • Participate in the preparation of financials, footnotes and other schedules
  • Analyze revenue, commissions, stock-based compensation, and other technical areas for proper accounting treatment
  • Research relevant U.S. GAAP accounting and prepare accounting memos for new products and partnerships
  • Assist in managing external audit, including preparation and ongoing support
  • Proactively identify issues and assist in optimizing systems, upgrades, and automation of accounting processes

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience, mix of public accounting and startup experience preferred
  • Experience with Netsuite, Bill.com, Expensify, Carta a plus
  • Must have proficient knowledge of Excel and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc)
  • Excellent problem solving skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to handle multiple priorities within deadlines
  • Team player, with a positive attitude, who is proactive and owns accountability
