At Gusto, the accounting team is all about working together to solve problems and improve processes. As an accountant in this newly created role, you will work closely with the Accounting Manager and other accounting team members on the month-end close process, audits, reporting and more. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical and able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Prepare month-end journal entries and supporting schedules (payroll, cash, accruals, fixed assets)
- Play an integral part in the month end close process by preparing and maintaining many of the close reconciliation working papers
- Assist with the annual audit process including both the readiness and execution including preparation of supporting audit schedules
- Tackle ad hoc projects as requested (e.g. research and document issues, special projects, etc.)
- Work with various cross-functional departments to streamline data flow and automate processes
- Ability to analyze and understand changes within accounts in the GL
Here’s what we're looking for:
- Ideally three plus years’ experience, with at least one year in public accounting
- CPA, or CPA candidate strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with the team and across functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Added bonuses —SaaS industry experience, prior experience with NetSuite, Blackline, Bill.com, Coupa, SQL skills.
