The Opportunity

As Afterpay’s Senior Accountant, you’ll …
- Responsible for month end close processes for various accounts, including but not limited to: Revenue, Capitalized Software, Equity
- Build and maintain best in class processes; help streamline month-close process via automation, identifying efficiencies and standardization
- Partner with Finance and Accounting departments in relation to the month end process
- Perform and review Balance Sheet and P&L flux analysis
- Perform reconciliations of applicable accounts
- Review work prepared by team members
- Review merchant contracts to identify non-standard terms, document impact and ensure terms are appropriately operationalized; Work cross functionally with other teams where applicable
- Create and lead new initiatives and procedures to support expanding team deliverables driven by business growth
- Resolve day-to-day and complex accounting issues
- Proactively drive improvements in processes and procedures
- Ad hoc finance projects, including external audit requests, expense reporting, review of merchant contracts and tax matters
Who are you? (Qualifications)

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3-5 years progressive experience in financial auditing, accounting, finance operations, or related experience (public accounting or Big 4 experience and/or CPA a plus)
- Technical accounting experience a plus
- Highly motivated, self starter with experience in a fast paced environment and able to thrive under pressure
- Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and ability to multitask
- Experienced in MS Excel
- Proven leader who can drive change and process improvements and drive efficiency
- Hunger to learn, apply skills, and grow within the organization
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deliverables
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Team player, with a positive attitude, who is pro-active and owns accountability
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
