About the Role
At Sentry, the Accounting & Finance team has the critical role of being the backbone of financial reporting, business operations, and decision-making at our growing company. On a day to day basis, our team wears many hats, collaborates with stakeholders in every department, all while maintaining accurate and up to date financial reporting.
A Senior Accountant is the missing puzzle piece to our team. This person is a do-er and problem-solver who is excited for the challenge of owning the Revenue cycle and looks forward to improving the process as we continue to grow and adapt.
In this role you will:
- Own the AR / Revenue Cycle, including but not limited to: accounting contract review, invoicing, collections
- Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses and analytical reviews, and producing internal management reporting
- Manage external tax team
- Partner with Internal Systems, Finance, and Legal to support internal financial systems process improvements and advise on accounting implications of business decisions
- Research and prepare technical accounting analyses for new accounting pronouncements and/or business initiatives
- Design, implement, and execute efficient internal control procedures
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedural documentation

Qualifications
- 3-4 year(s) of relevant Accounting experience; preferably with 1+ years of revenue related experience with a SaaS Company
- Active CPA or CPA eligible highly preferred
- Understanding of GAAP and basic revenue recognition standards
- Experience in Quickbooks and Salesforce preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Demonstrates ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize specific tasks and meet tight deadlines
- The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment
