About the Role:
Wing is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team based in Palo Alto, CA. As a member of this team, you know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on, review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Every day is a new challenge, and you're continually looking for ways to help our team get better at what we do, in the most efficient way possible. A team player at heart, you collaborate with other teams at Wing and Alphabet, advocate best practices, and roll up your sleeves to pitch in when it's all hands on deck. You move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and you tap into your problem-solving skills to support Wing's business objectives.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform month-end close processes. Prepare and present financials to management and support ad-hoc requests from cross-functional teams
- Assist with implementing new financial systems and building new accounting processes
- Review G/L reconciliations for key accounts including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll, accrued expenses, intercompany, and equity
- Support FP&A with monthly and quarterly Forecast vs. Actual reporting
- Identify opportunities to centralize, eliminate, automate or outsource activities. Work with providers to outsource established or mature processes and review ongoing activities
- Assist with documenting and monitoring internal controls
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent practical experience
- CPA certification or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience working at an accounting firm, public company, or start-up
Bonus:
- Working experience of US GAAP
- Working experience using SAP
- Demonstrated experience in cost accounting and inventory management
- Demonstrated experience in international accounting
- Excellent business acumen, with the ability to work amidst ambiguity. Ability to understand and present data
