Reporting to the Head of Finanace, the hands-on Senior Accounting Manager will lead financial reporting for U.S operations. You will be an integral part of the Global Finance team, responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, scalable and efficient processes, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely GAAP financial statements for the U.S operations. You will be responsible for and focused on general financial and operational accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and ensuring that the foundation for an audit-ready financial close is set.
What You'll Do
- Own the U.S. financial close calendar and consolidation of international financials and establish key processes to ensure financials accurately reflect business activity including in (but not limited to) the following critical areas:
- Expense accruals
- Revenue recognition
- Fixed asset accounting
- Inventory & cost accounting
- Equity & debt accounting
- Develop U.S. GAAP compliant accounting rules and procedures, including revenue (ASC 606), stock-based compensation, software capitalization, and other areas.
- Lay groundwork for the company to undergo external audits at public company standards.
- Manage the US Accounts Payable process, including department and intercompany cost allocations, and oversee the Accounts Receivable operations.
- Lead process improvement initiatives resulting in better controls & timing.
- Lead the optimization of existing platforms, including NetSuite and migration(s) to other new and existing platforms.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of accounting and finance experience.
- A mix of Manufacturing/Services and Big Four public accounting firm experience.
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP.
- Strong technical knowledge base of inventory cost accounting treatments.
- Extreme organization and attention to detail, with a strong analytical capacity.
- Capacity to coordinate complex interdisciplinary projects with teams and deep dive into detailed financials and transactions.
- Ability to interact and interface confidently with all levels of management.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), flexibility, and comfort with change.
- Experience with NetSuite and commonly used financial tools such as Expensify, Divvy, and Tipalti (or similar programs).
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- You are a Certified Public Accountant.

You must be eligible to work in the United States. This role is based in South San Francisco. Relocation available should you be open to it!
