About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on and agile leader to build out Chime’s Financial Planning & Analysis function. Responsible for all corporate and business unit budgeting, planning and management reporting, the FP&A team plays a key role in developing and shaping our business and financial strategy, as well as in executing on a number of high-impact cross-functional initiatives at the company. This role will involve building out a world class team; architecting and implementing key processes, systems and controls; and developing a cadence of insightful reporting and forecasting that will enable the company to scale, guide optimal resource allocation and drive financial performance and predictability. A successful candidate will be able to develop trusted relationships with key leaders across the organization, will become an expert on the KPIs that drive Chime’s business, and will be a key contributor to strategic company-level decisions. This role reports to CFO and sits on the CFO’s leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Hire, lead and develop a high performance FP&A team
- Develop and manage corporate and business unit annual planning and budgeting, monthly/quarterly guidance, variance analysis, and management reporting
- Partner closely with department heads and business units to drive continuous improvement of KPIs, develop business cases for key initiatives, negotiate and manage vendor contracts and track performance against plan
- Evolve the financial management processes, controls, systems and tools (including financial planning software) to support the company’s growth while driving financial performance and predictability
- Create high fidelity dashboards, analytical frameworks and financial analyses that deliver insights to the executive team and board
- Develop an effective budget management process that ensures Chime meets its financial goals
- Partner closely with the People team on headcount planning, compensation analysis and other talent development initiatives
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in financial planning, business analysis or another financial management function at growth stage private technology companies and/or public companies; Fintech experience a plus
- 5+ years experience leading an FP&A team, with direct responsibility for quarterly and annual budget and financial planning processes
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high caliber teams and a track record of delivering strong financial performance
- Experience evolving processes, controls and systems to support growth stage companies, including implementing financial planning software
- Expert analytical, financial planning and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional ability to collaborate with and influence business partners
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with Executive management and cross-functional teams; ability to explain complex or technical financial subjects to a non-technical audience
