THE TEAM

The Revenue Finance Team is responsible for analysing, reporting, budgeting and forecasting total global company revenue (transactional revenue from tickets as well as revenue from a broad scope of additional products and services), contra revenue (e.g. refunds, chargebacks and amortization of organizer upfronts) and cost of revenue (e.g. processing fees and hosting costs) as well as the operational expenses of the revenue driving business units.

There are exciting things going on behind the scenes at Eventbrite. Our product portfolio is growing and we are rapidly expanding the number of product features to service our broader scope of event creators. Given our growth, our business has become more complex and dynamic. Our Finance team is evolving its capabilities to address the increased complexity of the business while partnering with Executive leadership, guiding the business throughout this critical phase. Our goal is to provide leadership with accurate, insightful, and action-oriented guidance for decision-making.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to strengthen the team. Our new team member will mainly provide FP&A support to our Sales business unit and additionally will take on ownership of some of the larger line items impacting our global company revenue and gross margin. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and eventually be the FP&A authority on the below areas
  • Revenue and related revenue metrics for our Sales business units
  • Key contra revenue and margin line items for the total company (Refunds and chargebacks & Processing fees)
  • Headcount and Opex for our global Sales organisation
  • For these areas you will support and/or own the yearly budgeting cycle, the monthly forecasting and the periodic reporting while constantly measuring performance against set company goals and explaining material variances and deviations from expectations and trends.
  • Signal and flag risks and opportunities in a timely manner
  • Improve or design and implement new models, trackers, dashboards and reports where needed
  • Guide revenue leaders and their teams into better understanding and interpreting revenue analytics and revenue drivers
  • Own the numbers, ask critical questions and dig deeper in order to better understand the drivers behind the numbers.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders throughout the organization. Hold a close relationship with sales organization, revenue accounting, data insights, data foundry and data analysts within other business units throughout the organization
  • Support the month-end, quarter-end and year-end corporate reporting requirements

THE SKILL SET

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience within Finance with emphasis on budgeting, forecasting, analysing and modeling (revenue and margin a strong preference) 
  • High degree of analytical skills and problem-solving capability
  • Strong MS Excel and/or Google Spreadsheets modeling skills required
  • Experience with BI/CRM/ERP systems (preferably Workday, Adaptive, Tableau, Salesforce)
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines
  • Strong sense of ownership and pride in own performance and its impact on the success of the company
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate and communicate complex analysis and ideas to senior management
  • Ability to manipulate and reconcile large datasets from multiple sources
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, challenge and reconcile data quality issues
  • Strong preference for candidates with an understanding of database structures and experience with querying data via complex SQL statements
