Position Summary

The Senior Revenue Accountant reports to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting. In this position, they will assist with the entire revenue accounting and close process. This role will work closely with cross functional teams to ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of revenue. This role will have a dual focus on (1) upstream process efficiency within the quote to cash process and (2) streamlining our revenue recognition process under multiple elements as we integrate our existing systems to further automate and scale the business and implement new tools to manage complex revenue transactions. The ideal candidate has experience with multiple element arrangements, complex revenue transactions, can think strategically on a process level, and also execute in the details.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform contract analysis review and apply critical thinking to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and ASC 606 revenue recognition accounting standards
• Perform and maintain ASC 606 revenue accounting analyses such as Standalone Selling Price analysis, Contract Combination assessment, Contract Modification assessment, and Material Right assessment
• Perform revenue month-end close activities: prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses
• Assist in researching accounting guidance and prepare technical memos to document Company’s position on various revenue transactions
• Partner with Legal, Sales Operations and Finance, Billing, Professional Services, and FP&A to drive best practices in revenue
• Assist with process improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue process as business expands and shorten the revenue close calendar.
• Work with the external auditors to provide the required support for the quarterly reviews and annual audit.
• Assist with developing and documenting public company-caliber controls and procedures to assist with narratives and risk control matrices
• Lead and assist with other special projects as needed; drive projects to successful completion

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of revenue accounting experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) or software companies (combination of Big 4 Public Accounting and corporate experience preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (plus CPA preferred)
• Knowledge of revenue recognition US GAAP (ASC606)
• Excellent presentation and communication skills are required to communicate technical accounting requirements to non-technical audience
• Detailed-oriented with excellent analytical skills
• Excellent computer skills with MS Office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong financial systems background and NetSuite experience is a plus
