General Purpose:

SEC reporting, equity reporting and technical accounting research

Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:

Summary

The Sr. Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting is a key member of the finance team and will be responsible for all aspects of SEC reporting, technical accounting research related to new and proposed accounting standards and complex accounting transactions and accounting for equity, stock-based compensation and leases).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the timely and accurate preparation of all external financial reports, including SEC filings (Form 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K), quarterly and annual census reporting, and other financial and governmental statutory reporting, as required, including review and approval of XBRL tagging
  • Prepare tie-out support for all SEC filings and complete disclosure checklist
  • Provide assistance with the preparation of all financial press releases and public information announcements
  • Manage the preparation of the Company’s stock-based compensation expense and EPS calculation, related party transaction disclosure and memo, embedded lease inquiry
  • Manage the preparation of the Company’s statement of cash flows
  • Act as a primary technical accounting resource for the company by researching, resolving, documenting, and communicating conclusions for complex accounting matters that arise
  • Monitor, assess and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the company and provide training to accounting personnel
  • Work with the outside valuation specialist on annual goodwill and other long-lived intangible asset impairment analysis as well as other valuation assignments
  • Work with external auditors to drive timely closure of technical accounting matters
  • Perform special projects, as needed

Essential Skills and Experience:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA required
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience, of which 3+ are either in an SEC corporate reporting role or at manager level in a Big 4 accounting firm working with public companies
  • Excellent knowledge of current US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated recent experience in researching and preparing technical accounting memorandums for complex issues and new accounting pronouncements
  • Knowledge in complex accounting matters, such as equity compensation, acquisitions, derivatives, and leases
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and proactive
  • Experience with using Oracle and Active Disclosure or W-Desk (preferred)
