About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious Staff Accountant to join the Accounting team here at Rocket Lawyer. This role will manage our Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) function and support key areas of the general ledger. A Day in the Life
- Management of full cycle AP in accordance with our Company policy.
- Management of full cycle AR including collections.
- Proactively field, research and respond to internal and external AP/AR inquiries.
- Support key areas of the general ledger such as bank reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, expense reports, credit cards and intercompany allocations.
- Assist with short term cash planning.
- Lead annual 1099 filings.
- Support of annual audit and tax requests.
- Analyze and report various department and project spend.
- Lead or assist with improvements to drive process, control, and scalability.
- Support of various accounting reconciliations, analyses and projects.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience in full cycle AP and general accounting.
- Proven understanding of GAAP and bookkeeping procedures.
- Excellent organization, time management and attention to detail.
- Desire and ability to work with a wide variety of people, at all levels, across all functions.
- Independent self-starter with a positive attitude.
- Strong customer service and vendor management skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
