The roleWe are looking for a highly motivated and data-driven Staff Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage AP processing & accruals, sales tax registrations, payments, compliance with Alvara, fixed asset & prepaid journal entries, compliance reports, collections, audits, payroll, and reconciliations. You will also partner closely with the Controller & Finance department to tackle a variety of accounting projects while developing and streamlining processes. You are a great fit if you’re self-driven, highly organized and an enthusiastic team player! What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for the processing of AP and accruals
  • Manage Sales Tax registrations, payments, and compliance with Alvara
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for Fixed Assets and Prepaids
  • Filing CA and City of SF Compliance reports
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Support with ad hoc accounting projects
  • Help with complex reconciliations of Customer Trust Accounts, clearing accounts and other balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with the calculation of commissions and payroll

 What we’re looking for

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Advance knowledge of functions & formulas in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with GSuite, Slack, Microsoft Office, Expensify, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven high level of confidentiality and professionalism

 Bonus Points

  • CPA, EA or CMA licensing preferred but not required
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
