ABOUT THE ROLE

Join us as an integral part of the Accounting team at BlueVine! We are building an elite team of smart and driven individuals to deliver timely and accurate reporting to management and be responsible for growth monitoring at BlueVine. You will be instrumental in BlueVine’s financial and business aspirations and will help Bluevine realize its potential.

In this Accountant role, you will have the opportunity to work on complex parts of the general ledger and month end closing process, as well as various strategic projects. You will be responsible for your assigned areas and expected to help management implement new processes, improve on current procedures, and create efficiencies wherever possible. 

The ideal candidate is analytical minded, technologically inclined, results driven, and will thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. This is a great opportunity to take on a core accounting role in a rapidly growing tech startup.

This is not a fully remote role. At BlueVine, we pride ourselves on our collaborative culture, which we believe is best maintained through in-person interactions and a vibrant office environment.  All of our offices will reopen in accordance with local guidelines, and will follow a hybrid model.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure integrity and accuracy of the accounting records
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Prepare working papers to support the operations of the company’s core products
  • Work on sections including but not limited to general operations; banking and payments
  • Partner with internal stakeholders such as FP&A, Legal and HR on ongoing projects and ad-hoc requests as needed
  • Participate in system implementations, integration and enhancements as necessary
  • Proactively identify issues and implement process improvements to streamline accounting processes
  • Help the team with our annual audit and additional audits performed by debt providers or bank partners
  • Contribute to the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with GAAP and regulatory requirements and established best practices

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience. Preferably a mix of a top tier public accounting firm and a tech company accounting department
  • Experience with complex reconciliations 
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting systems
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP
  • Good understanding of both financial and operational controls
  • Strong analytical mind and an eye for detail 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally across BlueVine
  • Ability to be flexible and comfortable with changing requirements
  • A positive attitude and a results oriented work approach
  • Team player with an ability to work independently

Nice to have:

  • CPA License 
  • Experience with NetSuite 
  • Experience with data tools such as SQL, Tableau

Located in central Redwood City, our office offers fantastic walking access to the city's attractions such as Broadway, the Courthouse, and fantastic dining locations. We are also close to many convenient bus stations, Cal-train, and major roadways.
