This role in Strategic Finance / Bizops will be an integral part of the Blend finance team. The role will evolve and assume additional responsibilities based on performance, ownership, and ability to interact successfully with the business. This role will help guide financial planning and strategic decision making. The team provides strategic, operational and financial decision support at the corporate, departmental and product level. We are looking for someone who makes confident, fact-based decisions and approaches problems from different perspectives in order to suggest and implement solutions. 

How you'll contribute:

• Analyze complex data and present findings in a clear manner that drives decision making and outcomes; experience with financial and strategic modeling
• Create ad-hoc business performance reporting, data analysis, and financial modeling to help key stakeholders make strategic decisions
• Monitor business metrics to ensure we are tracking to targets, flag when we are at risk of missing plan and understand the causes of changes
• Conduct variance analysis, identify key drivers, and make recommendations for change
• Produce regular financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
• Identify areas of improvement in process and tools, make recommendations, and drive solution implementation
• Assist in developing finance and business presentations and related supporting materials for investors, board members, and senior leadership
• Ensuring data cleanliness and standardization, partner cross-functionally to align definitions of various business metrics

Who you are:

• 2+ years of experience at an investment bank, and/or on a corporate strategy, strategic finance, or business analytics team
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven success partnering and collaborating across multiple functions
• Proven ability to think strategically and tackle open-ended problems 
• Bachelor’s Degree, preference for Business/Finance/Economics/Math/Data Analytics
• Proficient in Excel with modeling and superior analytical skills
• Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles
• Organized, flexible, and easily adaptable to changing conditions
• Ability to work well in high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with data visualization tools, SQL, Adaptive and Salesforce 
• Exploratory data analysis tools such as R and Python are a plus
