Finance at Bex
The Finance team leads financial planning & analysis, corporate development - which includes board communications, investor relations, fundraising, and M&A -  and rewards program design and product monetization. We strive to be agents of change, rather than a reporting function. We’re integrated with the business units and partner closely with them to evaluate key questions, solve problems, and drive results. Through our corporate development efforts, we are deeply involved in long-term planning and major strategic decisions for the company. Finally, our ownership of rewards programs and product monetization drives the two largest levers of profitability at Brex.

What You’ll Do
As the Strategic Finance Associate, you will be working in the finance team to drive our corporate strategy, financial planning, resource allocation, cross functional alignment, and performance management. You will build the financial plan, ensuring buy-in from the key stakeholders, and work closely with the leaders of each business unit to align their efforts to achieving Brex’s mid and long term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive cross-functional alignment around the operating model to ensure achievement of the business plan
  • Provide updates to executive leadership on a regular basis to drive strategic topics for the Board of Directors meetings and investor fundraises
  • Partner with business units (e.g. GTM) to provide analytical support to drive ROI and align their business plans with the inputs in the financial model
  • Participate in, and contribute to, quarterly OKR planning and creation of annual business goals
  • Partner with capital markets to optimize Brex’s liquidity strategy including supporting debt and equity capital raises
  • High exposure to the executive leadership, including monthly reporting and analysis delivered directly to the CEO and CFO

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, STEM, or related field
  • 2+ years of investment banking and / or corporate finance experience
  • High level of Excel proficiency
  • Comfortable interacting with internal and external senior level executives
  • Strong communication, team-working, quantitative and analytical skills
  • A creative curiosity, collaborative ethic, hardworking enthusiasm and driving personal vision
  • A penchant for multi-tasking and self-starting

Brex is located in the East Cut, in between SOMA and FiDi a block from Salesforce Park and the Transbay Transit Center.
