Tax Manager

The Tax Manager will be responsible for leading the GRAIL’s tax function. The ideal candidate is passionate about GRAIL’s mission, has strong technical and analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position has an option to be located at our global headquarters in Menlo Park, CA or to work remotely, and will report to the Corporate Controller.
You will:
- Lead and complete international tax planning strategies, as required.
- Develop and maintain transfer pricing and management fee arrangements, including compliance with transfer pricing studies and reporting requirements.
- Manage preparation of GRAIL deliverables to be used by our parent Company, Illumina, for their consolidated income tax provision under ASC 740.
- Assist with the preparation of the foreign income tax returns for the Company’s international subsidiaries.
- Oversee compliance with international indirect tax rules.
- Handle preparation of the US sales/use and property tax returns.
- Handle all tax related audits.
- Ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes.
- Independently identify, research and analyze tax related issues.
- Develop tax planning strategies as required.
- Assist the FP&A Director in estimating and monitoring the forecasted income tax provision rate and cash payments for income taxes.
Your background should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 6 years of income tax related experience, including international tax experience.
- Public accounting experience with a CPA or Chartered Accountant certification.
- Experience developing and implementing international tax strategies.
- Experience in the life sciences/ healthcare space stronger preferred
- Strong, current understanding of US GAAP and tax related reporting rules and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience with Google Docs a plus.
- Experience with NetSuite a plus.
