The Coinbase tax team is focused on ensuring that Coinbase complies with all of its tax obligations in all of our global operations, and for tax planning to ensure an optimal and efficient tax structure.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
The Tax Manager, Tax Operations - Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) will be an integral member of the tax team working in coordination with the Coinbase Tax, Finance and Accounting teams to help support and execute the company’s M&A growth objectives. You will be responsible for:
- Working cross-functionally with key stakeholders from Coinbase Tax, Finance and Accounting teams.
- Leading complex purchase accounting reviews for tax, requiring the application of deep technical tax accounting concepts.
- Leading post-acquisition tax integration.
- Supporting tax due diligence, identifying and assessing risk, and clearly communicating deliverables.
- Partnering with the greater Coinbase tax and finance teams to ensure full compliance will all laws and regulations.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- CPA.
- 5-8 years of experience, ideally with a mix at both a Big 4 accounting firm and in industry.
- Significant experience with ASC740 and ASC805.
- Broad based technical tax experience, with a heavy focus on supporting M&A activities through tax due diligence, purchase. accounting review, and post-acquisition integration efforts.
- Excellent speaking and communication skills while working with business teams and explaining tax concepts to both tax and non-tax audiences.
- Outstanding detail-orientation and process-orientation skills.
Nice to haves:
- Advanced degree in accounting and/or tax (MST, LLM).
- Crypto industry experience.
