We are expanding our Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting team and looking to bring on our first Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting Manager who will play a significant role in establishing a SOX compliant accounting and reporting foundation. This position will be tasked with taking on the accounting for technical/non routine areas as well as to play a substantial role in our SOX readiness program.  In keeping with Reddit values, the successful leader in this role is someone who operates with an open mindset and “values the human” in all interactions. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, completeness and accuracy of results as reported. This position will also provide technical advisory support to the broader accounting and revenue teams and work cross functionally as a valuable member contributing to the Company’s maturation process. This position reports to the Head of Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Draft our quarterly and annual financial statements; review 701 investor financial statements
  • Monthly and quarterly equity accounting (SBC, BSM variables, modification of awards, etc)
  • Monitor new and emerging accounting pronouncements, assess the impact and lead the implementation efforts of such pronouncements; articulate accounting considerations clearly and with advance notice
  • Provide advisory support to finance as well as our business partners on new initiatives and complex transactions
  • Research and document positions on non-routine accounting matters as well as new accounting standards
  • Develop and refine accounting policies as well as initial internal control / SOX framework
  • Develop key reports from Netsuite to support monthly and quarterly reporting; work cross functionally to gather key financial metrics to support month end fluctuation analysis and support monthly reporting
  • Assist with interfacing with the Company’s external auditors on key technical areas
  • Participate in special projects, analysis and reporting as required by management

What We’re Looking For:

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in the advertising technology/media industry; 5+ years of public accounting required and 2+ years of public company experience in a similar role preferred
  • CPA required (Active or Inactive)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP & SEC reporting requirements
  • Experience designing and implementing new accounting policies, procedures and controls
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Able to work under time pressure, prioritize a high workload, and meet strict deadlines
  • Positive attitude and open mindset, not afraid to roll up your sleeves
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Team player, strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, dependability, and, last but not least, a good sense of humor
