Job Description

Verkada is looking for a leader to join its accounting department. Specifically, we are looking for a motivated, self-driven, high performing finance professional looking for a unique career growth opportunity. The role will include a combination of supervisory and review functions along with preparation of original work as the Company builds out the finance and accounting team to support a high growth business. The Technical Accounting Manager must be an expert in US GAAP and have a comprehensive understanding of internal controls over financial reporting. Along with playing a key role in the financial statement close process, this position will be responsible for assessing and documenting Verkada’s accounting positions for new GAAP pronouncements. Additionally, the Technical Accounting position will own the Company’s process and interna controls documentation. We are looking for someone who is up for a challenge and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

· Implement, identify, and document key controls over financial reporting

· Assess and document accounting conclusions for complex transactions

· Research, assess, and document new accounting guidance

· Supervise financial statement close, external reporting, and other key financial and operational processes

· External and internal financial reporting

· Special projects and audits

Requirements

· 5+ years of relevant work experience with exemplary record of performance in a demanding role.

· Public accounting experience required

· Extensive understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.

· Experience with SOX and internal controls

· Certified Public Accountant

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to effectively communicate with senior management in an efficient manner. Interview process may include written “homework” assignment

· Highly motivated with ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
