About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and process focused Controller to lead our accounting team. You will own the entire global close, consolidation and reporting process, proposing and implementing changes and automations to enable timely and accurate reporting and help setting the roadmap to being a public-ready company.
- Own the month-end close, global consolidation and account reconciliation process, setting up the team for success to meet deadlines and communicate financial results on a timely and accurate basis. You will lead teams based both in the US and Pakistan.
- Work cross functionally with various teams to automate manual accounting processes and reports; ensuring efficient and accurate flow of information between teams
- Developing, implementing and enforcing appropriate controls and procedures suitable for a public company
- Identifying potential data integrity issues and work cross-functionally to resolve
- Identifying areas where additional skill sets/resources are needed and hiring to fill out the team
- Ensuring a consistent month-end close time of 5 days
- Work cross functionally with various teams to automate all manual accounting processes and reports; ensuring efficient and accurate flow of information between teams
- Collaborate with the FP&A team to develop accrual procedures and provide insights of the financial results and close status
- Assist in preparing and/or updating financial and accounting policies as needed and assist in the application and adherence to those policies
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting filings (international entities) and various tax filings (domestic and international entities)
- Ad Hoc Projects as assigned
What you'll need...
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field
- 15+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance or Audit; preferably including working with multiple foreign entities
- National audit firm experience with clients focused in the tech industry. Big 4 experience preferred
- CPA and/or advanced degrees
- Late stage private company or public company senior level accounting experience
- Strong revenue recognition and technical accounting background
- Proven ability to teach and develop. Patience and ability to explain accounting concepts to non-accountants across the company
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to communicate the financial impact of Accounting issues to senior management and non-finance business partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Positive attitude with a eagerness to take on challenges and in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and build working relationships across global teams
- Results driven with a high level of ownership, initiative, teamwork, accountability, and integrity
- This position reports to the company's CFO and will be a key member of the management team
