We’re looking for a high-performing, self-sufficient Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our Strategic Finance team. This role will support the Director of FP&A, VP of Finance, and CFO in analyzing and reporting financial and operational data to improve transparency, drive performance, and support business planning. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and experienced in cross-functional collaboration, ideally with a background in financial modeling, renewable energy, hardware/software supply chains, and business operations.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Director of FP&A at our Redwood City HQ, you’ll oversee financial operations and be a key contributor to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. You’ll ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and provide strategic insights that support high-impact decisions.

  • Lead month-end close activities, collaborating with accounting and other finance partners to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Develop standardized, automated reporting to establish a single source of up-to-date information for efficient financial runway analysis.

  • Partner cross-functionally to build and maintain financial projections, including the annual budget, quarterly re-forecasts, and a rolling monthly outlook.

  • Establish yourself as the primary FP&A business partner managing Budget vs. Actual analysis (CapEx, OpEx), providing insights into variances.

  • Oversee headcount planning, budgeting, and forecasting in alignment with rapid business growth.

  • Report and analyze Travel and Entertainment (T&E) Expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies for both EU and US entities.

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly reporting and financial commentary for our Executive Team and Board of Directors.

  • Conduct ad hoc financial modeling to provide actionable insights for our business.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes, reporting, automation, and implementation of AI tools (e.g., Google Gemini).

Who you are:

You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and thrive in dynamic start-up environments. You enjoy solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and using financial insights to influence strategy.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (finance, accounting, economics); MBA preferred;

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A or Strategic Finance, Private Equity, or Investment Banking;

  • Strong familiarity with hardware, software business models and metrics;

  • Ability to think across multiple business dimensions (sales, marketing, government relationships, product development, supply chain, etc.) and work cross functionally to deliver results;

  • Don't hesitate to get in the weeds and work at the lowest level of detail but just as comfortable thinking big picture and long-term;

  • Desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;

  • Advanced proficiency in Google Spreadsheet, Microsoft Excel, overall presentation skills

  • Bonus Experience: Tableau, Looker, SQL, NetSuite, AI tools
