As a Vice President in the Global Conflicts team, you will be at the forefront of managing and mitigating conflicts of interest within the Commercial & Investment Bank. You will have the opportunity to work on the most complex transactions, providing critical insights and recommendations to senior leaders. This role offers a unique chance to influence business decisions and drive strategic initiatives, all while collaborating with global industry heads and control functions.
The Legal Department at JPMorgan Chase & Co. manages legal and other risks, advises on products and services, interprets laws and regulations that impact the firm, and advises the firm on other matters. Job Responsibilities:
  • Review new business opportunities to identify potential conflicts of interest.
  • Communicate frequently with Global Industry Heads and Product Heads to discuss transaction analyses.
  • Manage the business selection process when necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal and Compliance teams.
  • Supervise and mentor associate team members in transaction analysis.
  • Lead strategic projects, including new technology initiatives and banker training.
  • Provide sound independent judgment in assessing conflict situations.
  • Ensure timely completion of conflict management matters.
  • Facilitate business selection conversations and manage deal team staffing.
  • Partner with JPMC's Lines of Business and other control functions globally.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate reputation risk.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Investment Banking, with a focus on Mergers & Acquisitions or Investment Banking Conflicts.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to chart and analyze relationships among global entities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior bankers and management.
  • Confidence and fortitude to probe across stakeholders for comprehensive analysis.
  • Ability to manage complex matters and bring them to timely completion.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Experience in leading strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory environments and compliance standards.
  • Proven track record of successful conflict management in a financial setting.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment.
  • Experience with new technology implementation in a banking context.
  • Advanced degree in finance, business, or a related field.
