Peak Energy

Job Title: Global Supply Manager

Location: Burlingame, CA

Department: Supply Chain

Position Type: Full-time

About the Company

Peak Energy is the first American venture to advance globally proven Sodium-Ion battery systems as the storage standard for the new era of renewable energy on a resilient grid.

Sodium-Ion is cheap, readily available and safe, making it the leading contender in a rapidly evolving market.

Our leadership team is powered by decades of expertise in scaling gigawatt-level innovation at world-class companies such as Tesla, Northvolt, Apple, Powin, Enovix, Zipline, Solid Power, and Fluence. We are backed by strategic investment and product partners such as TDK Ventures and Eclipse Ventures.

We are a team of engineers, operators, entrepreneurs, and partners driven by a shared ambition to set the new performance standard for renewable energy and grid resilience.

About the Role

Peak Energy is seeking a Global Supply Manager to own the sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management of key mechanical components across our product portfolio—including structures, enclosures, thermal systems, and high-precision assemblies.

In this role, you will drive supplier selection and contract execution, manage cost and delivery performance, and partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program teams to ensure mechanical components meet product requirements and timelines. This is a strategic, high-impact role that will help define our supply chain as we transition from prototype builds to scaled manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Source and manage suppliers for key components including enclosures, sheet metal, thermal systems, HV & LV distribution
  • Drive the supplier selection process with Engineering and Manufacturing stakeholders based on quality, cost, delivery, and scalability
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with global suppliers
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence DFM, design changes, and part specifications early in the development cycle
  • Support NPI builds, prototype programs, and high-volume manufacturing transitions by ensuring supplier readiness
  • Resolve supply chain bottlenecks and lead escalation with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Monitor supplier KPIs (cost, quality, OTD) and lead business reviews to continuously improve performance
  • Partner with Supplier Quality and Supplier Industrialization Engineering to validate process capability and mitigate risk
  • Own cost management strategies for mechanical components, including should-cost modeling and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Travel to supplier sites as needed (expected ~20–30%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in global supply management, strategic sourcing, or commodity management—preferably in energy, automotive, hardware, or manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical component sourcing (e.g., sheet metal, thermal, precision machined parts, enclosures) and associated manufacturing processes
  • Proven track record of supplier negotiation, cost reduction, and commercial agreement execution
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10–20%)
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers
  • Familiarity with energy storage systems, batteries, or complex electromechanical products
  • Knowledge of ERP and PLM systems (e.g., NetSuite, Arena)
  • Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment

The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. Our competitive benefits package includes flexible time off, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a strong 401(k) plan, and equity opportunities. Join us to thrive in a supportive environment while making a meaningful impact in the energy sector!

At Peak Energy Technologies Inc., we believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace makes us a more capable, innovative, and competitive company. We welcome people who represent diversity in their backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, and experiences. Peak Energy Technologies Inc. is an equal opportunity employer, aiming to reach our company’s full potential by cultivating an inclusive workforce. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, citizenship, marital or family status, disability, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
