About the role

Hex is seeking an experienced Head of Recruiting who will act as a trusted partner to our Executive Team, manage our recruiting strategy and drive cross-functional partnership. We believe that our team is the foundation of our success, and the caliber of talent we attract will directly shape our future. You will help set the vision and strategy for growth at Hex, while also rolling up your sleeves to ensure we deliver against our ambitious goals. You will play a pivotal role in maturing our recruiting function, while developing and executing strategies that ensure we attract, hire and retain the best talent. This role reports into our CFO.

What you’ll do

  • Drive rigor and operational excellence in talent org to consistently deliver timely hires that meet our business needs.
  • Ensure efficiency, consistency, and scalability in all of our recruiting processes and systems. Continuously drive improvements throughout the talent acquisition lifecycle from structured role kickoffs to closing candidates.
  • Lead our recruiting team: hire, mentor and develop our recruiters at various stages of their careers while fostering high-performance culture, growth and learning. This includes communicating effectively and setting clear, measurable objectives for the team as a whole.
  • Proactively partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure they get the recruiting support they need to meet their hiring goals while leading with communication, problem-solving, and mutual support.
  • Develop Hex’s overall recruiting and brand strategy by executing creative and data-driven sourcing and top-of-funnel strategies to attract, engage, and hire top talent in alignment with our business goals. This could include initiatives like branded recruiting events, networking campaigns, and job description refinement to attract top-tier talent and build a strong market presence.
  • Manage recruiting budgets, tools, and resources, ensuring they are used effectively to support the team and meet hiring targets.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the current talent market, identifying trends and opportunities to give Hex a competitive edge in attracting top talent. Utilize data, market insights, and recruiting metrics to inform leadership decisions on talent strategy.
  • Ensure a world-class candidate experience throughout the recruitment process by using data and analytics to track the effectiveness of recruiting processes, identify areas for improvement, and inform decision-making

What you’ll bring

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of the SaaS startup and enterprise software talent ecosystem and landscape.
  • Thrives in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and comfortable with making hard decisions and driving consensus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing recruiting teams, ideally in a fast-growing tech company.
  • Strong operational mindset with a track record of developing and refining recruiting processes at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and market insights to influence senior leadership and drive recruiting strategies.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term and long-term goals (e.g., move quickly without compromising quality).
  • Experience building and driving an employer branding strategy
  • Experience across EPD hiring and GTM hiring
  • Proven track record in full-cycle recruiting
  • Experience managing and developing a world class team that includes recruiters and sourcers, ensuring that you can set your team up to meet (and exceed) expectations.

Location

  • Hybrid with at least T/TH in SF office, and likely one other day most weeks (Wed)

The salary range for this role is: $185,000 - $220,000.
The salary range shown may be a reflection of additional factors such as geographical location and skill ranges/levels we’re open to. Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process, taking into account factors like leaving room for growth, internal fairness & parity, your demonstrated skills, and the depth of your experience. Our Recruiting team will be able to provide more details during the interview process.
