Benefits Manager
Grammarly offers a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely. Teams will meet in person every quarter in one of Grammarly’s hubs, currently in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Kyiv. To ensure that teams are able to overlap in their working hours and to meet face-to-face when needed, all team members need to live within three time zones of their direct team.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Benefits Manager to join our People team.
The Benefits Manager will help define and drive our benefits strategy for North America to attract, reward, and retain our highly talented and EAGER team. The Benefits Manager will work closely with the Total Rewards and People teams to understand how to align our benefits with our company culture, assess ongoing effectiveness, and drive continual iteration and improvements. This person will leverage their deep experience and understanding of North American benefits plans and offerings, including local statutory requirements, to provide thought partnership and execution of these significant programs and initiatives.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Benefits Manager who wants to build and evolve North American benefit programs of a quickly growing global company. Upon moving to a remote-first hybrid working model, it’s essential to ensure our benefits are consistent and accessible no matter where someone lives and works. The Benefits Manager will also ensure our benefits and perks will address team members’ unique needs.
Your impact
As Benefits Manager, you will leverage your deep experience to provide thought partnership and execution of these significant programs and initiatives.
We are in the process of refining our total rewards strategy and benefit focus as we grow. Your role will play a large part in helping further define and implement our benefit programs for North America (US and Canada).
In this role, you will:
- Implement long-term programs for our total global benefits offerings.
- Manage and lead the oversight of innovative benefits, wellness, and retirement programs in alignment with our Total Rewards philosophy.
- Develop tools and communication vehicles that increase employee engagement and understanding of our benefit and perk programs.
- Work closely with brokers to evaluate and benchmark our benefits programs based on industry trends and best practices to ensure competitiveness.
- Partner and drive the execution of annual benefit renewals and enrollment processes.
- Provide leave management support, reporting, vendor management, and policy updates.
- Provide oversight to our insurance partners, brokers, and carriers to ensure quality plan service and administration.
- Act as a subject-matter expert on all North American benefit matters.
- Ensure that all benefit programs are implemented and maintained in compliance with legal requirements and regulatory guidelines (ERISA, ACA, etc.).

- Brings experience with developing a benefits strategy, including plan design, pricing, and budgeting for a high-growth company.
- Assumes an adaptive approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.
- Is experienced in building, leading, and working with teams supporting a diverse workforce across multiple geographic locations.
- Has vendor-management experience including evaluation of proposals, modification of benefit materials, contract negotiations, and integration of new benefits vendors.
- Has at least 2 years of experience in people management.

- For Colorado-based employment: The salary range for this position is $102,000 –- $220,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
