Zoom is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist that will work on employee relations and investigations with the lived experiences of our employees and culture. You will provide employee relations and performance management, case management and consultation. We’re looking for an individual who will ensure employee issues and concerns are resolved fairly and positively, while mitigating risk for the organization.

This person will support and work with employees across organizations at Zoom, building trusted relationships quickly, and partnering with warmth, empathy, compassion, and creativity to think inside of and outside of the box to drive the right solutions. This individual will also work with the internal teams to conduct investigations, determine findings and recommendations, draft investigation-related documents, and interpret and advise on policies, practices, and related employee relations topics You’ll also partner closely with various stakeholders including: Business Leaders, HR Business Partners, Legal, etc. This role will report directly into the Employee Relations Lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong communication, presentation and executive writing skills.

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to influence others.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate successfully within ambiguity, multiple priorities and a constantly changing environment.

  • Track and identify trends utilizing the case management system.

  • Interpret and apply understanding of corporate policies and practices, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification for ER inquiries.

  • Maintain current and relevant knowledge in a variety of concepts, practices, procedures as well as legal updates associated with HR and Employee Relations.

  • Ability to work effectively at all levels in the organization.

  • Collaborate with People Experience Partners, Legal, and other investigative parties as required to thoroughly conduct the investigation and reach the best outcomes for our organization and employees

  • Experience working with HR Information Systems (Workday, Service Now, etc.) and case management software

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and intuitive sense of business acumen

  • Ability to execute tasks with attention to detail, reliability, and a relatively quick pace

  • Ability to interface and partner with HR and non-HR stakeholders to achieve results

  • May serve as facilitator and apply interventions to resolve low risk employee disagreements, conflicts, or misunderstandings if needed.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; preferred JD or MBA or MJELE

  • 3+ years of broad HR Generalist knowledge and experience.

  • 2+ years experience in Employee Relations experience.

  • Experience in a high tech environment

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to form hypothesizes, operate / advise in the “gray” areas. Adept understanding of client motivations and business pain points; leverages inputs to influence business decisions.

  • Ability to synthesize complex issues, translating them into written form to ensure legally appropriate documentation.

  • Business and people acumen, knowledge of consulting frameworks and models, and ability to influence employees and managers at all levels.

  • Solid understanding of Federal and State laws, regulations and policies, principals, concepts and practices, including but not limited to Title VII, FMLA, ADA, etc...

  • Possesses high degree of integrity and competence dealing with highly sensitive / confidential information in a discrete manner.

  • Excellent coaching, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate successfully within ambiguity, multiple priorities and a constantly changing environment.

  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects with strong time management and prioritization skills.

  • Strong diversity and inclusion acumen and commitment.

  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively within and across HR and legal.
