About the Role:

Wing is looking for a Head of People to lead our People team based in Palo Alto. The ideal candidate is a strategic partner who influences and challenges stakeholders as appropriate, designs and implements people strategies, and monitors and adjusts them to achieve extraordinary business results. They will have a deep understanding of business drivers and success metrics, and the ability to deliver results amidst ambiguity.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Build a strategic People practice for Wing, including but not limited to organizational design and development, talent acquisition, onboarding, equity inclusion and diversity (EID), learning and development, performance management, employee engagement, job architecture, and compensation
  • Hire, inspire, and lead a strong team aligned and excited to implement the people strategy. Coach and develop team to meet business priorities and goals
  • Serve as a key thought partner for Wing, including partnering with leadership to advise on People strategy and everyday people management
  • Oversee the strategy and implementation of key processes, programs, and tools that enable Wing to work efficiently and focus on achieving ambitious goals
  • Partner with Alphabet teams to leverage their knowledge and execute on pan-Alphabet programs 
  • Develop and advance EID programs and ensure a sense of belonging and community at Wing
  • Leverage client-facing skills with a flexible communication style and the ability to communicate complex concepts and analytics in a structured manner. Work closely and cross-functionally to ensure that the people organization is able to support business growth

What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 15+ years of people operations and / or HR experience
  • Experience inspiring, leading, and scaling People teams 
  • Demonstrated record of developing recommendations, implementing solutions, and designing creative People strategies as an individual contributor and as a manager
  • Proven success in taking a business through scale and building out an organizational design to support that growth 
  • Ability to prioritize and succeed in a highly ambiguous environment with competing demands
  • A track record of personal accountability, strong work ethic, integrity, and results directly attributable to influence 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships 
  • Scaled program and project management experience including Equity, Inclusion and Diversity programs 

Bonus: 

  • Experience leading HR internationally
  • Track record of leading Internal Communications function at scale
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation and total reward program
