When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.

Job description

Atlassian has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, upbeat, and creative HR professional to support the HR Partners team (includes HRBPs, Employee Relations, HR Enablement, Regional HR Partners, and HR Specialists), to help design and scale HR solutions to our key HR challenges. This position will play a critical role in partnering with the R&D business units to educate and set them up for the future.

As the HR Partners team evolve, so will this role. The ideal candidate is nimble, scrappy, and able to pivot quickly to changing priorities and decisions. Also critical is to know and understand the roles on the HR Partners team, have empathy for the work they do, and to draw on previous HR experience to make sound decisions and recommendations.

More about you

In this role, you'll be expected to:

  • Partner with the R&D HRBPs, HR Enablement Partners, and business leaders and to understand their programmatic needs, and, in partnership with the COEs, design and build programs to help them grow and scale. This includes synthesizing the many offerings for managers into a digestible, repeatable cadence each year.
  • Demonstrate and accelerate the adoption of COE/People solutions to drive transformational change
  • In partnership with the HR Business Partners, conduct needs analysis, assess change readiness, and identify success metrics for programs
  • Determine which programs should be developed and deployed consistently across the company and which ones need to be customized for R&D
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage response to change across stakeholders and end users
  • In partnership with the Communications team, ensure an integrated approach to communication of our programs and support development of communications for broad groups
  • Integrate change management activities into new and existing project plans
  • Partner across our COEs to ensure the R&D People team roadmap is aligned to the overall People team roadmap
  • Measure and report out regular metrics on impact of training and content
  •  Create feedback loops to understand the impact of People team programs and incorporate the VOA (Voice of Atlassians) into program improvements

What you’ll gain from this role:

  • Exposure to and development of expertise in HR bodies of work (org design, workforce planning, Total Rewards, etc)
  • Impact: you will directly influence how Atlassians experience all of our People programs
  • Well-rounded HR skills to support advising on various programs or cycles
  • Exposure to all People programs across the COEs and the ability to support the design of programs, ensuring they are built to scale
  • True cross-functional experience within the People team and the company

Professional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of broad HR experience, ideally with time spent in one or more HR COE (Talent, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, etc).
  • Recent, relevant experience working cross-functionally, ideally across COEs in a People organization
  • Experience as an HRBP or partnering with HRBPs on the planning and execution of People programs
  • Strong understanding of talent management philosophies and best practices
  • Experience with compensation programs and various components of pay (base salary, bonus programs, equity programs, etc).
  • Experience driving executive communications on announcements and change management
  • Stellar communication skills, with attention to detail for grammar and the ability to “read the room”
  • Comfort with ambiguity, with the ability to synthesize abstract concepts and mold them into a simple plan
  • Ability to pivot quickly to changing priorities and communicate change in an organized and effective way

Personal Characteristics

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills at all levels, with the ability to advocate and obtain necessary buy-in for programs that can set up as scalable processes/programs.
  • Inspires a culture of innovation, execution, collaboration, accountability, and positivity.
  • Highest ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility and character.
  • Strong work ethic and passion around the People and Talent function.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and business acumen.

More about our team

We manage a two-way street between teams to provide strategic HR input into People programs, and, in return, we enable the HR Partners team to successfully launch People programs with the business.
