Payroll Manager

We are looking for a hands-on Payroll Manager who will lead the full cycle global payroll functions for our US and EMEA offices. This role will report to the Corporate Controller and partner closely with our People team in building out the systems infrastructure and processes to scale the payroll and HR operations. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Perform domestic and international payroll operations and manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Act as a subject matter expert and a point of contact for all internal and external payroll inquiries.
- Collect and verify compensation and benefit packages and other relevant documents to set up and support payroll calculations, and maintain data integrity.
- Understand proper taxation and deduction for compliance with the Fed, State, local jurisdictions and international payroll regulations.
- Manage quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and other statutory reporting requirements for domestic and international payroll.
- Collaborate with internal partners in designing and implementing best practice in accordance with the company policies and wage laws.
- Participate in month/quarter/year-end internal financial closing activities as well as external audits of financial statements, 401(k), workers comp, etc. (e.g. payroll journal entries, reconciliation of payroll to GL, 401(k)/FSA/HSA posting and reconciliation, etc.).
- Lead or assist on special projects as needed.
- 6+ years of experience processing multi-state and international payroll required
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now required
- Experience in processing taxable/non-taxable fringe benefits, leave of absence, 401(k), overtime pay, stock-based compensation, temporary/permanent resident visa holders required
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with intermediate skills in Excel including VLOOKUP, if functions, pivot tables, etc. desired
- Maturity and professionalism to handle confidential data
- Excellent organizational skill, attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and demands
- Ability to communicate effectively with the teammates and various levels of management as well as external contacts
- Strategic, analytical and motivated to self-educate; able to identify and report relevant issues to the management for timely and accurate resolution.
- Reliability with strong work ethics
- Experience in systems implementation desired
- Experience using NetSuite and Carta desired
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) desired
