This role provides essential support for foundational HR operations functions through the right balance of efficiency, accuracy and a customer centric mindset. It’s expected to measure and collaborate on process optimization through routine evaluation of People Ops practices. The person in this role will establish themselves as a go-to resource for all employees on company practices, policies and benefit offerings, and will act with accountability for data integrity, reporting, and record keeping.

Benefits Administration

  • Answer and resolve employee benefits questions, and liaise with benefits broker on benefits issues
  • Support annual open enrollment process
  • Process semi-monthly funding of pre-tax savings accounts
  • Manage COBRA enrollments
  • Manage Leaves of Absence

HRIS Administration

  • Provide first level support to Blend employees with Workday questions 
  • Escalate more complex inquiries to Blend's functional teams including, but not limited to, HRIS, Payroll and Benefits as necessary
  • Respond to cases generated via tickets, email inquiry, chat or telephone inquiries in a timely and consistent manner, ensuring all requests are tracked through resolution 
  • Provide backup and support to Benefits Specialist related to communications, orientation, annual audits, uploads and validations, and wellness programs
  • Assist Blend's centers of expertise with annual processes eg. Blend Talent Cycle, Open Enrollment, Merit etc.
  • Maintain content on Confluence detailing Blend's programs and plans 
  • Update and maintain training materials and Quick Reference Guides, as needed
  • Provide training and support to new people managers, HR Business Partners, and new hires. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements
  • Follow up on outstanding tickets to ensure requests and issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Organizational Support

  • Respond to, or triage, employee inquiries sent to the People Operations inbox
  • Complete employment verification requests
  • Provide termination support to HR Business Partners: coordinate exit logistics with IT and Finance, prepare and send exit documents, etc.
  • Maintain compliance as it relates to: Annual ACA reporting, FLSA review of new roles, updating employee handbook and labor law postings

Onboarding Facilitation

  • Facilitate and manage weekly new hire orientation
  • Process all new hire paperwork
  • Coordinate day one logistics with managers
  • Examine operational touch points to make recommendations on areas for improved efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience in human resources or related administrative function
  • A positive, “can do,” service-oriented attitude, with excellent follow through on issues
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to communicate professionally via email
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently, experience in a fast paced high tech environment a plus
  • Proven customer service skills, has a solid track record of delivering results and a desire to exceed expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality
  • A desire to constantly improve, fixes processes, addresses issues and solves problems
  • Outlook, Excel knowledge, recruiting or human resources system experience a plus
