Your Impact:

We’re looking for a People Operations Coordinator to join our growing People team. Working on this team, you will have the opportunity to have a tremendous impact on our people processes during a period of high growth. The People Operations Coordinator will report to our Director of People, and will work closely with our People and Talent Department, as well as our IT Team, to coordinate and continuously improve our onboarding and offboarding programs for all Handshake employees and contractors.

Your Role:

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding; including welcome emails, onboarding instructions, I-9 verifications, calendar management, and data entry into our HRIS
  • Continuously seek to up-level our onboarding programming, to ensure a best-in-class new hire experience as the company grows
  • Manage processes for offboarding employees; including departure emails, entering employment changes into our HRIS, and partnering with our IT team to ensure access to tools is revoked in a timely manner
  • Identify potential areas of improvement in our current onboarding & offboarding processes; collaborate with the People, Talent, and IT Teams to make our systems & processes even more scalable and seamless
  • Own the onboarding and offboarding of all Handshake contractors; including fielding requests for new contractors, drafting agreements, updating all data in our HRIS, managing all calendar invites, and partnering with our IT team to ensure access to tools is activated and deactivated in a timely manner 
  • Maintain and protect confidential data with great discretion, judgment, and professionalism
  • Act as a resource to the broader team by responding to general HR inquiries 
  • Execute on additional day-to-day HR operations and tasks as needed

Your Experience:

  • Desire and natural curiosity to learn about the People/HR field
  • Superb organizational skills, with a focus on detail 
  • An ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Comfortable juggling different tasks and driving them forward quickly
  • Effective communicator and collaborator 
  • Positive, eager to learn, team player

  • Understanding of relevant employment laws
  • Experience in a rapidly growing startup or tech environment
