People Operations Lead
Grammarly offers a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely. Teams will meet in person every quarter in one of Grammarly’s hubs, currently in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Kyiv. To ensure that teams are able to overlap in their working hours and to meet face-to-face when needed, all team members need to live within three time zones of their direct team.
Grammarly team members who will be collaborating at our Kyiv hub must be based in Ukraine.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a People Operations Lead to join our People team. The People Operations Lead is responsible for creating the supportive infrastructure of data, systems, and processes to lead People Operations projects and implementation for the Grammarly Kyiv hub. This role will be responsible for shaping and aligning Grammarly’s processes and policies to our EAGER values and culture in order to support our outstanding talent. The People Operations Lead will build solutions to scale, creating the infrastructure to support Grammarly’s expanding People team. Core to the role is providing help, knowledge, and problem-solving to team member lifecycle changes, delivering outstanding service, and providing seamless employee experiences. This role will support the People team in North America, providing exposure to international HR practices.
Your impact
As Grammarly grows quickly, there is a huge opportunity to revisit the systems, processes, and policies currently in place to ensure they will work effectively at scale. As People Operations Lead, you will review and update systems to support future growth and collaborate with the IT, Finance, GRC, and Security teams to implement the automation that will allow People Operations to stay effective, reduce manual routine work, and support the necessary level of reporting for certifications and compliance.
You’ll have an exciting opportunity to own the shaping of our People programs infrastructure and build programs to scale. You’ll harness your foundation in a range of People Operations focus areas (including compensation, benefits, mobility, and systems) and experience in managing effective People Operations teams.
In this role, you will:
- Analyze and update existing processes, policies, and systems to ensure they are up to date, compliant, and designed in a way to support Grammarly’s high growth.
- Participate in a new HRIS migration while collaborating with the IT, Government Risk and Compliance, Workplace Experience, Finance, Legal, and Security teams to ensure all critical processes are captured and migrated.
- Identify areas for automation and implement processes that will require minimal manual work.
- Prioritize People Operations systems, tools, policies, and compliance for 2022.
- Take ownership with clear areas of roles and responsibilities on major areas like onboarding, offboarding, benefits, contractors, payroll, compliance, and more.

- Displays strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
- Has experience as a system admin for HRIS and/or HR process systems.
- Understands how to analyze organizational risk with applicable laws and policies.
- Brings knowledge of operations components of employee lifecycle touchpoints, specifically onboarding and offboarding.
- Has experience researching, drafting, and implementing HR policy, including communicating with legal counsel and team members.
