It’s an exciting to join the Total Rewards team at Atlassian. We just announced our Team Anywhere vision and are looking for a hardworking, experienced and fun compensation professional to help us evolve our compensation strategy, programs, policies and processes for a truly remote workforce.


We are also on a multi-year journey to evolve our Performance & Compensation Review processes in service to our newly developed Talent Philosophy. In this role, you will be a thought partner on how our compensation programs and frameworks should evolve to attract, motivate and retain talent in order to meet our business needs.


As the Senior Manager, Global Compensation Programs, you will be responsible for leading the planning and administration of global compensation programs including: market analysis, annual budget planning and the end to end focal review process. This role will liaise with a cross-functional team of HRBPs, HRIS, global compensation team members, and People team centers of excellence.

Success in this position requires strong analytical skills with the ability to step back and see the big picture. The right candidate will help us to ensure forward thinking systems and tools to support our fast-growing constantly evolving organization. You take employee feedback seriously and collect it often to continually improve and enhance our programs. Combining data and feedback from Atlassians with the latest industry research, you will make large-scale, data-driven decisions that will have a huge impact.


This role will also be a member of the Compensation Leadership Team and have exposure to all of the work efforts within the team. While we have to divide and conquer to get work done, we are highly collaborative and value all opinions so you will always have a seat at the table as we deliver on the initiatives on our FY21 roadmap.


If that isn’t compelling enough, we are a globally distributed team yet manage to be close-knit. Our team meetings range from a focus on compensation related topics to birthday recognition and competitive games. We work hard and play hard together.

In this role, you'll get to:

  • Lead a small team of Compensation professionals
  • Lead and ensure effective management of various compensation work streams including salary planning, annual bonus and equity processes and reviewing compensation insights with leadership.
  • Ensure appropriate governance and adherence to Atlassian’s compensation philosophy, policies and global labor law requirements.
  • Ensure alignment with our corporate compensation philosophy, participate in the review of market data and creation of market reference ranges, including report development, analysis of market data, movement recommendation and costing for both US and all other countries
  • Responsible for project management of compensation programs, policies and processes. Act as internal authority regarding compensation analytics, programs and processes for the company
  • Collaborate with HRIS resources on tool strategy, improvements and enhancements
  • Identify processes, programs or capabilities that could benefit from automation or re-engineering
  • Drive end-to-end consistency across programs and train resources
  • Remain current on global compensation technical solutions and introduce solutions to improve internal programs
  • Lead global market analysis exercise; being an authority on major external survey methodologies and have deep insights in market data utilization globally
  • Convert data outcomes into insights and executive ready presentations to senior leaders
  • Ensure that the compensation structure (base, bonus and equity) and compensation for employees is externally competitive and internally equitable.
  • Assists in the development and dissemination of effective communication materials that improve the understanding and value of compensation programs

  • On the first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5-10 years of compensation experience
  • In-depth experiences with a global focal comp planning system and market analysis tool; experiences with advanced compensation planning technology development and implementation
  • Experience leading global projects in a compensation team
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, experience with big data and interfacing between HRIS applications, solid financial and compensation modeling skills and ability to communicate persuasively with business partners to resolve highly complex problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, craft and recommend market competitive programs aligned to business strategy.
  • Work regularly and comfortably with high-level individual contributors and leaders across multiple functions. Track record of influencing at the senior leadership level.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to articulate and distill complex issues.
  • Ability to manage change effectively and always mindful of technology and business process implications.
  • Advanced excel skill is a requirement
