The Role
The Senior Manager - Global Compensation will work within the Global Compensation Centre of Excellence, with a focus on providing both strategic and practical input into the design and implementation of Afterpay’s compensation framework. The role’s initial focus will be North America, however it will also support compensation frameworks in Afterpay's markets, globally. This role will be instrumental to annual processes, including merit and bonus review, equity allocations, market benchmarking, job grading, benefits administration and annual budgeting requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design and review the effectiveness of compensation frameworks Globally, with a focus initially on North America
- Provide strategic input into the design of compensation programs for North America and Global, with a focus on Technology sector experience
- Respond to identified hot spots to ensure job grading is market relative and the company continues to be able to attract and retain the talent in the location it needs.
- Fully support the annual performance and merit review each year updating market movements, remuneration ranges and work with Finance on the development of budgets.
- Assist with communication materials and planning for the People Team and People Leaders, as well as employee education
- Leading and supporting briefings and managing ongoing queries and requests.
- Identify gaps in current practices and where possible, provide knowledge and experience on the full Total Reward package
- Support analysis and budget modeling as required
- Manage employee lifecycle events (e.g. terminations) as they relate to incentive plans working effectively with wider Human - Resources (HR) team and external vendors
- Implementation and education support on equity compensation
- Provide support to the wider HR team on remuneration decisions and advice and ensure up-to-date policy, processes and forms are readily available to support robust decision making and authorization of decisions.
- Support the administration of North America benefits programs
Experience:
6+ years total rewards experience or equivalent
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced skills in Excel.
- Certified and experienced in market benchmarking and job classification methodologies
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex plans or programs of work for a large company
- Well-developed numerical financial, analytical and audit skills
- Strong senior stakeholder management experience
- Strong network of total rewards professionals in the Bay Area Technology sector
- Impressive communicator and presenter with the ability to readily engage audiences and interact effectively with people at all levels.
- Proven history of developing effective partnerships, both internal and external. Strong vendor management skills. Commercial thinker and highly customer focused. Great team-player.
- Good with detail without losing sight of the strategy. Capable of being flexible and creative when required.
- Ability to work independently with confidence, credibility and good judgment
