Sr. People Operations Generalist

What we are looking for:
- Strong project management skills
- Experience partnering with corporate departments within HQ (i.e. Recruiting, Finance, Legal, etc.)
- Experience administering and managing benefits to employees in multiple states and Canada
- Familiarity or experience with managing leave of absence and Immigration cases (we work with a trusted LOA provider and an immigration attorney that would partner with you on each case)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in publicly-facing and 1:1 environment
- Experience working with HRIS, ADP, benefits broker, and other benefits and perks platforms
Responsibilities of the role:
- Administer day-to-day HR processes and systems
- Manage our US-based benefits and perks programs including design, analysis, budget management, implementation, education/communication (including open enrollment), compliance, reporting, and recommendations for improvement. Includes and is not limited to group medical/dental/vision insurance, Life & AD&D, HSA, COBRA, FSA , 401(k), leave of absence, perks program, and workers’ compensation
- Remain informed on all Federal and State regulatory, compliance and legislative changes that may affect employee experience, benefits, and/or perks
- Partner with vendors, brokers, and internal stakeholders/teams to resolve complicated claims issues in an efficient manner and communicate benefits offerings and updates
- Stay current with HR technologies and streamline our existing processes using tools that allow us to scale and communicate with our diverse workforce, be administratively efficient, and improve our employee experience
- Answer policy / process questions from team members, or direct them to the best resource - while providing a positive experience to everyone you interact with along the way
- Support MasterClass and the People Operations team on a wide variety of people programs & initiatives such as Immigration case, performance reviews, and other People Ops projects
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of People Ops/HR processes and programs with at least 5+ years of experience in People Ops or HR (preferably within the technology industry).
- In-depth knowledge of laws, regulations, terminology, and best practices relating to employee benefits and employment law in the US. Bonus if you have working knowledge of Canadian benefits schemes and regulations.
- Effective collaboration, ability to take initiative and drive multiple projects, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
