Job Description

Wish is looking for a marketing designer with excellent writing and visual design skills to build brand awareness and education. The designer will focus on each of our target audiences to support key business objectives and ultimately drive product loyalty worldwide. As part of the Design team, you will partner closely with our content strategists and work cross-functionally with our Product Design, Product Marketing, and PR/Communications teams. You will be responsible for designing and crafting store-facing and merchant-facing narratives of Wish's mission across a variety of media.

A bit about our team

Our team is small, nimble, and growing quickly. We design and release new features at a rapid pace to ensure that our product remains relevant, and as a result, designers here make an impact immediately. Each designer has the opportunity to work on a number of individual projects from scratch to finish. We're looking for an experienced designer who is passionate about serving the often neglected demographic of lower-income, value-conscious consumers by designing better experiences for our sellers. Designers on the team touch every dimension of the seller & storeowner experience and have an influential voice in determining and scaling the brand voice and experience.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate on a wide range of projects, including illustration, photography, video, and design for print and interactive.

  • Craft the visual identity of our brand for store owners and sellers

  • Work alongside marketing to craft product landing pages, assets for online and offline marketing (including emails, display banners, social media, print, conferences and tradeshows), business collateral, video assets, infographics, and photography assets for content marketing

  • Work with designers, copywriters, engineers, marketers, and others at Wish to execute outstanding work

  • Develop creative visual solutions following the process from concept through to production

  • Manage ambiguity effectively, and influence the direction of your projects by identifying and defining new opportunities

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of digital and print design experience

  • Maintain a high-bar for artistic quality for yourself and others while pushing to find the best solution to meet company goals

  • Strong conceptual, creative and strategic thinking, with a knack for visual storytelling.

  • Strong portfolio showing a range of projects you've designed including branding and identity design systems, responsive websites, and marketing collateral

  • Adaptability and quick thinking for times when projects change, timelines shift, or scopes vary. Knowledge around how to navigate these situations and the ability to mitigate issues as they arise

  • Experienced knowledge of relevant design software (Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote, Figma, G Suite, After Effects)

  • Attention to detail when it comes to typography, grids, balance, and white space

  • Informed and thought-through opinions. Willing to push and fight for an idea, but willing to listen and collaborate too

  • Organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Animation and motion graphic skillset is a plus

  • Be able to intern 40 hours a week from January to June
