Quizlet’s mission is to help students (and their teachers) practice and master whatever they are learning. Every month more than 50 million active learners from 130 countries practice and master more than 300 million study sets on every conceivable topic and subject. We are developing new learning experiences by modeling how students learn and drawing upon knowledge acquisition, retention, and pedagogy in cognitive science. We are always seeking to help students master any subject by optimizing study efficiency and engagement.

Quizlet offers an exciting 2020 Summer Internship Program beginning June - September. Our program is a 10-week paid internship that focuses on enabling students to advance their professional preparation through work experience, professional development, and mentorship. We have a fun summer planned for you with several events and workshops. You will work on real projects, features, and updates that will contribute to Quizlet and impact our 50 million+ users.

We're looking for:

A Business Development Intern to join our team in San Francisco for summer 2020.

Our team works on two of Quizlet’s three revenue streams — advertisements and Premium Content. Our ads business allows us to offer amazing study tools to millions of students around the globe for free, and Premium Content is paid Quizlet study content, created by our expert partners. Premium Content is our newest revenue stream, and this role will work mainly with that side of the business.

Come help us scale one of the fastest growing and highest quality consumer learning brands, as we develop innovative simple-to-use study tools that help students everywhere!

In this internship, you’ll:

  • Work with the Account Manager and Account Coordinator to streamline the content onboarding process for partners. This will involve direct contact with Quizlet’s business partners, as a representative of Quizlet.
  • Analyze partners’ success using internal and external data, and present recommendations for how to improve performance for other partners.
  • Assist with various projects and initiatives, such as user research or content launches.
  • Take an entrepreneurial approach to the role, working cross-functionally with the product and engineering team to get things done.

At a minimum, we’d like you to be:

  • An excellent written and face-to-face communicator
  • Highly organized, with great follow-through on projects big and small
  • Flexible, eager to learn and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment

It’s preferred if you are:

  • Experienced with manipulating data in Excel and Google sheets
  • A frequent user of Quizlet
  • Enthusiastic about how technology can improve student outcomes

Education

  • A rising University junior or above, with experience (or an interest!) in business, marketing or analytics

We hope you are excited about everything you read so far. We highly encourage you to apply for this position, even if you feel you do not meet all the requirements. Quizlet is always looking for amazing folks that believe in our mission and can contribute to our team in various ways - not merely candidates that fit a certain mold.
