Quizlet’s mission is to help students (and their teachers) practice and master whatever they are learning. Every month more than 50 million active learners from 130 countries practice and master more than 300 million study sets on every conceivable topic and subject. We are developing new learning experiences by modeling how students learn and drawing upon knowledge acquisition, retention, and pedagogy in cognitive science. Quizlet offers an exciting 2020 Summer Internship Program beginning June - September. Our program is a 10-week paid internship that focuses on enabling students to advance their professional preparation through work experience, professional development, and mentorship. We have a fun summer planned for you with several events and workshops. You will work on real projects, features, and updates that will contribute to Quizlet and impact our 50 million+ users. 

As a design intern at Quizlet, you will own a project which you will execute from ideation to launch with measurable results. Our interns are fully integrated into one of our teams and will participate in all aspects of our product design process. You are one of us and your ideas can make a huge impact on what we build for our users. In addition to working directly with design, product, and engineering, you will be partnered with a design mentor that is committed to your development and success. Your mentor is there to help you set and achieve goals by providing regular feedback, coaching and paving the way to ensure you have the best experience at Quizlet.

Quizlet is hiring Product Design Interns to join our Design team in our San Francisco, CA office.

In this internship, you'll acquire the following skills and experience:

  • Opportunity to apply, practice, and develop design skills through real project work
  • Gaining stakeholder buy-in for designs
  • Collaborating with engineers to prototype, build, QA, and test designs
  • Leveraging data, analytics and A/B testing to inform designs

At a minimum, we'd like you to:

  • Be deeply excited about the impact your work will have on the lives of students and teachers every day
  • Be proficient with core digital design and prototyping tools (Sketch, InVision, wireframing software, etc.)
  • Have a basic understanding of the user-centered design process, activities and deliverables
  • Have visual design skills to create high-fidelity, polished, designs
  • Be excited about interviewing people during user research sessions

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Product Design, UX Design, HCI (or equivalent)
