Quizlet offers an exciting 2020 Summer Internship Program beginning June - September. Our program is a 10-week paid internship that focuses on enabling students to advance their professional preparation through work experience, professional development, and mentorship. We have a fun summer planned for you with several events and workshops. You will work on real projects, features, and updates that will contribute to Quizlet and impact our 50 million+ users.

We're looking for:

Security is very important at Quizlet. Students, parents and teachers trust us to keep their information secure, and it’s a responsibility we take seriously! We’re looking for engineers excited about security to help our team to secure our cloud infrastructure, web applications, and mobile clients. If you have a background or interest in application, infrastructure, network, or corporate security, this team could be a great fit for you.

Quizlet is located in San Francisco, CA and Denver CO. and our London team is our first outside the United States.

In this Internship you'll:

• Develop training materials, and work to help grow our engineering security culture
• Evaluate and provide security guidance on the use of tools and libraries
• Build and improve monitoring, detection, and alerting capabilities
• Partner with IT operations to improve IT security infrastructure
• Perform security technology audits
• Monitor environments for security-related risks

At a minimum, we’d like you to have:

• A passion for software engineering and security
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Javascript, and at least one scripting language (Python, bash, etc)
• Currently earning a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related programs with the expectation of graduation by June 2021, or equivalent technical experience

It’s preferred if you have:

• Experience with PHP, Hack, Ruby, and Golang
• Strong understanding of current and evolving technologies
• Experience with Sumo Logic

Education

• Applicants should be a Masters student with a focus on Security, Cyber Security, and/or Information Security
