Fivestars is looking for Summer 2020 interns (June - July) to join our User Research team and build the next generation of products to help small businesses and local communities thrive. In this role you’ll gain hands-on experience with all aspects of the user experience research process, from study design to analyzing and presenting results, using a variety of methodologies. We’ll provide you with all the mentorship, support, engagement, and real-time feedback that you need to accelerate your learning and make an impact on the Fivestars product.

Who you are

You’re currently pursuing a degree in HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Design, Business, Economics, Market Research, or a related field and want to solve complex and interesting problems. You demonstrate a high level of curiosity and thirst for learning. You are a strong team player who wants to contribute to a product that impacts the lives of business owners and consumers alike. You are flexible and enjoy working collaboratively in fast-paced environments. 

What you’ll do

• Learn research methodologies and strategies that we use at Fivestars
• Assist with ongoing research studies (i.e. usability, concept testing, surveys) 
• Develop research plans and procedures 
• Assist with analyzing and presenting data to key stakeholders 
• Assist with an audit of past research recordings to uncover key insights and trends

 What we’re looking for

• Currently enrolled in a four-year university program, a sophomore level or above (pursuing a Degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, HCI, Cognitive Science, Design, Business, Economics) 
• Analytical and always curious 
• Knowledge of statistical analysis methods 
• Knowledge of basic research methods (i.e. surveys, interviews)
• Past internship experience a plus but not necessary
