THE ROLE
Point is looking for a dynamic attorney to help grow its proprietary home equity investment and mortgage lines of business. Experience in consumer financial services is a must as you will be advising the product, sales, and operations teams on federal and state finance and real estate laws. Mortgage experience is a nice to have. You will have a heavy external facing role, facing investors, auditors, examiners, and regulators. You will work closely with the leadership team on new product launches, development of policies and procedures, transactional matters, disputes, and everything else that comes up in a growing startup. This is a generalist role at day one but will eventually specialize as Point scales.
YOU HAVE
- 8+ years of experience advising on consumer financial products.
- Mortgage litigation or compliance experience preferred.
- Experience advising on compliance with federal and state real estate, consumer lending, consumer protection, and/or privacy laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Member in good standing of the State Bar of California or eligible for in-house exception.
- Extra points for former federal law clerks.

Family Friendly
Point will top off California PFL earnings to full salary for up to eight weeks, as well as two weeks of fully paid leave to be available after exhaustion of CA PFL. An employee can take reasonable vacation time in addition to the California PFL leave.
Work From Home Stipends
With employees working remote through September 7, 2021, Point will provide employees a $50 monthly cell phone stipend and a $50 monthly internet stipend. In addition, we will reimburse up to $150 to help you purchase supplies for your home office.
Expected Salary Range: $180-200k
Expected Equity Range: 0.03-0.05%
