The Challenge
At Digit, we are on a mission to make financial health effortless for everyone. We are building the world’s first intelligent bank account to help millions of American consumers become financially healthy. Our challenge is clear: managing personal finances is hard. As of 2019, 70% of Americans struggle with at least one aspect of financial stability and over 40% don’t have $400 in their savings account. We believe automation is our path to delivering our mission, and we are working towards it every day.
We have a collaborative, diverse, and supportive culture and we look for people who are curious, ambitious, and mission-driven. If you're passionate about making an impact and helping real people every day we're excited to meet you!
The Role
We are looking for an experienced compliance analyst to help build out and execute our neobanking and investment advisor compliance program. In this role you will use your expertise to monitor and mitigate compliance risks across our entire organization. You’ll be a partner to product managers, an issue-spotter, a sounding board for questions, and a jack-of-all trades who can learn any new skill. Although the focus of the role is on bank transaction and investment advisor compliance, you will have an impact across the entire enterprise in building a best-in-class compliance management system. This role reports to our Compliance Lead.
What You’ll Do:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Digit’s products and associated state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Help our Compliance team execute our investment advisory compliance functions.
  • Monitor compliance and regulatory reporting processes and assist with interpreting compliance statutes and regulations.
  • Complete compliance tasks as part of Digit’s firm-wide compliance program, with support from business units and support areas as appropriate, such as monitoring, data retention, privacy, and anti-money laundering.
  • Help ensure that the objectives of the compliance program are met, assisting in the development of risk assessment activities, coordination of risk response, and program testing and validation.
  • Review firm marketing materials including advertising, presentations, website, and emails.
  • Help with annual reviews and audits of the firm's compliance program.

Who You Are:
Must-haves:

  • Experience at a regulated company (3 years minimum) and know at least 2 of 4 things pretty well
    • 1) Investment Advisor compliance (SEC)
    • 2) Broker-Dealer compliance (FINRA)
    • 3) KYC/AML/SAR
    • 4) Support financial services regulatory examinations and annual compliance audits.
  • This role involves working across different teams, so knowing how to build trust and be a problem-solver (and come across as a problem-solver) is critical.
  • You care about financial health, as it’s the core of what we do.

Now for the optional stuff.

  • You’ve worked for a Regulator (FTC, CFPB, FINRA, OCC, etc.) or at an investment advisory firm in a compliance-focused role.
  • You’ve conducted company trainings and/or created slides without a ton of long bullet points.
  • You’ve been involved in an audit and/or preparing for one (e.g., with a bank partner).
  • Experience with anti-fraud measures (ID verification, transaction monitoring, internal controls, Red Flags rules, anti-phishing).
  • You’ve partnered with Product and/or Engineering teams before, hopefully by embedding in the team.
  • You’re intellectually curious. You hear about something you don’t know and you feel a need to learn it. You don’t need to know everything, but you will need to know how to use your resources (colleagues, regulatory guidance, your network, Slack, journals, books, Bing, law firms) to find the answer to just about any question.

Today, we are harnessing machine learning technology to give our members the first intelligent bank account that manages all of their personal finances.
We’re committed to doing the best work of our lives together. Come see if Digit is right for you.

  • 100% paid medical, dental, & vision benefits
  • 100% paid life & disability insurance
  • Fertility reimbursement
  • Daily lunch stipend
  • Internet, commuter, and wellness benefits
  • Take what you need PTO policy
  • 401k plan
  • Flexible, hybrid work environment
