Manager, Compliance Management System
About the roleÂ
We are seeking a Manager to join our Compliance Management System (CMS) team in San Francisco (or remotely). Our CMS team is responsible for overseeing and administering policy, internal control environment, risk assessment, monitoring and testing, and training. As part of the CMS team, you’ll help to manage aspects of our compliance program to ensure we adhere to relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and industry standard practices. This will involve partnership with internal teams, as well as our bank partners. You will also be deployed to execute on tactical and strategic projects that may not fall squarely into one functional group.
For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $114,000 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect toÂ
- Play a key role in shaping and influencing the overall strategy of the regulatory compliance program at Chime, including planning, prioritization, and resourcing.
- Have accountability and/or ownership for critical compliance initiatives that align with Chime’s goals and regulatory feedback.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standard practices.
- Serve as a subject-matter advisor responsible for communicating compliance obligations and requirements to internal teams based on applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee and develop internal documentation to provide compliance obligation frameworks and controls for use by internal teams for new and existing products, services, features and activities.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the compliance management program, including policies, procedures, training, etc.
To thrive in this role, you have  Â
- Minimum of 10+ years of compliance or risk experience in the banking and/or Fintech space. Prior compliance consulting experience or relevant certifications (e.g. CRCM) are a plus.
- Broad knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations related to federal and state, including, but not limited to: Fair Credit Reporting Act (Regulation V), Truth In Lending Act (Regulation Z), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Regulation E), Truth in Savings Act (Regulation DD), as well as direct experience with regulatory entities (e.g., OCC, FRB, FDIC, CFPB, state agencies).
- Experience implementing requirements compliance program expectations from the FRB’s Supervisory Letter SR 08-8.
- Passion for coaching and developing team members and a love of helping others on the team thrive.
- Self-starter who can proactively manage ambiguity, multiple workflows, deadlines, as well as get into the details.
- Ability to build trust and credibility, as well as strong communication skills with peer and senior management teams.
